The 28 Native Trees of Ireland

10th Oct 2025

6th class (A) spent September extensively researching all the native trees of Ireland. We took a trip to Landsdowne Valley Park in Drimnagh to see as many of the native trees as possible. There was plenty of wildlife to discover there, including a heron, butterflies, dragonflies and mayflies.

The boys then conducted their own research in groups to create a Google slideshow of their chosen trees. They made a display entirely on their own which includes many of the leaves of different native Irish trees- some leaves were handmade and some are real! Their impressive slideshows can be viewed through their own QR codes provided on the display. A big well done for the huge effort put in!
