Food from around the World
Our 4th Class have recently completed a series of fantastic group projects on the country of France. The boys worked collaboratively to research different aspects of French culture, geography, and daily life before presenting their findings confidently to the class.
Following this, our Geography lessons shifted focus to the rapid growth and development of India. The boys compared what they learned with their existing knowledge of Ireland, leading to excellent discussions and a deeper understanding of global change.
To celebrate their hard work and to mark the completion of their end-of-year tests. We enjoyed a themed “French Breakfast” and “Indian Lunch” in class. The boys sampled a delicious selection of foods, including croissants, brioche, baguettes with jam and Brie, as well as samosas, onion bhajis, naan bread, poppadoms, and mango chutney.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm as the boys tried new flavours and embraced different cuisines. Impressively, every boy tried something they had never eaten before, which we consider a huge success!
Afterwards, the class conducted their own poll, and the results showed that the majority preferred the Indian food—though both meals were thoroughly enjoyed.
A big well done to all the boys for their fantastic effort, curiosity, and teamwork throughout these lessons!
