Exploring the Respiratory System in Third Class
3rd Dec 2025
Third Class have been learning all about the lungs and the different parts of the respiratory system. The children discovered how air travels through the nose and mouth, down the trachea, and into the lungs and how the diaphragm plays an important role in helping us breathe.
To bring their learning to life, the class created their own working models of the lungs using balloons, straws and plastic cups. By pulling and pushing the “diaphragm” balloon at the bottom, they could see the lung balloons fill with air and empty again, just like when we breathe.
